Laura Evans of DC Fox 5 news is on Twitter – Wow!
November 12, 2008 :: Shashi BellamkondaTwitter is fast becoming an easy tool for people to connect and share information in real time. This is called microblogging. I am at the Pubcon Conference in Las Vegas and was very surprised to see this tweet( ie. a Twitter message ) “levansfox5: christmas music?? it’s not even Thanksgiving yet…” (http://twitter.com/levansfox5/statuses/1001005182) and it was from Laura Evans Co Host of Fox5 news DC. Wow! I have been watching her on TV for many years. She is cool.
It’s great to see Laura Evans on Twitter and this can only benefit Fox 5 news. Now I know from watching her news show that Laura Evans is very friendly and knowledgeable. I think the community should help by giving her feedback on what they would like to hear about on her Twitter feed. Some ideas:
- Post tweets throughout the newscast with stories that are coming up on the show
- Ask for story ideas
- Would you like to get a welcome tweet when you follow her? I personally think that would make me feel good.
- How can we, as a community, help with her news gathering
A lot of us in the DC area follow @newmediajim at NBC and I am thrilled that I am now following @levansfox5
