A Technology Moment: Blogging from 34118 ft above sea level
June 7, 2009 :: Shashi Bellamkonda
I am sitting on the Virgin America flight 67 enroute to San Francisco as I am writing this post. I am thrilled and you may have heard the good news? Network Solutions won the 2009 Golden Quill Award from IABC for Voice of the Customer along with our agency CRT-Tanaka. I will be attending the IABC World Conference in San Francisco from 7th to 10th June and receiving the award . Now as I am connected to the internet at this high altitude I already finished a presentation that I am giving along with the Social media lawyer Raj Malik at the Cool Twitter Conference in Washington DC on 11th June.

This is another technology milestone in my life. I tweeted this in excitement : My last tweet was a shining moment for me. Using the internet from 30000 ft on @virginamerica. The other technology moments I can remember are : ( I may be revealing my age)
- 1st Valve Radio in my house 60’s
- 1st Transistor radio in my house 70’s
- 1st first TV ( black and white) 70’s
- First phone 70’s
- First international call 70’s to BBC – Bush House London
- First mobile phone call from a device as big as a briefcase – Sweden 1987
- First time on the internet – Sprynet 1995
- First website http://www.bombaybistro.com 1998-99
- Broadband 2003
- Big screen TV 2009
I have been waving virtually to friends who live in cities I am passing by and am very thrilled with this experience. Here are some pictures that I uploaded on this flight http://cli.gs/AEeWrg . What was your technology ‘wow” moment.
