Almost Live from Small Business Tech Summit : Bob Pearson from Dell – Small Business Tips
February 4, 2009 :: Shashi BellamkondaBob Pearson VP Communities and Conversations delivered the keynote at the Small Business Technology Summit New York Feb 3rd. The theme of the keynote was ‘Keeping Customers: It’s The Relationship (First) Not the Products” . We took a few minutes to ask him to give advice to the Network Solutions blog readers and the small business community.
Dell has done some amazing work connecting with customers and are an inspiration to how corporations should engage with the customers and community. Bob Pearson’s presentation talked about steps small business can take to engage in the Social media. His presentation will be available at http://smallbiztechsummit.com in a few days. Did you know Bob Pearson listen’s to 10,000 conversations every day.
Bob recommends small business setup alerts , use tools like netvibes to monitor conversations about them and their business. He showed an example of looking at your Google results and finding out who is talking about you. Dell has several small business resources. Bob gave examples of customers become your evangelists if they are given control of communities. All communities that Dell has supported have not been about their products. http://www.digitalnomads.com/ is one example. When Bob’s presentation becomes available we will post it here. We are thankful to Bob for giving us these quick small business tips.
In Dec last Dell launched in the UK a SmallBusinessAdvice.tv in conjunction with Intel and the British Chambers of Commerce. I heard about it on the podcast show For Immediate Release where Bob is interviewed by Neville Hobson. This new web TV channel addresses the needs of small businesses in the UK by offering expert commentary and advice to business owners in areas like accounting, financing, marketing, HR and technology. Bob Posts on Direct2Dell – a Dell Small Business community giving tips there also. A few month’s ago we interviewed Lionel Menchaca on the Network Solutions’ blog
What will you implement from Bob’s tips? let us know.
