A few months ago I had the opportunity to speak with co-founder Mukund Mohan about his entrepreneurship experiences, his blogging at Best Engaging Communities, and his new company, BuzzGain.
Launched this week from a private beta, BuzzGain has garnered some great press from TechCrunch, Mashable and our favorite Social Media Guru, Chris Brogan.
BuzzGain is not exactly a Social Media monitoring solution. It identifies and tracks content from over 150 Million reporters, bloggers, analysts, micro-bloggers, podcasters & video bloggers.
According to Mashable, “BuzzGain’s application helps companies listen by including a summary page with an overview on news, blogs, and microblogs, and the ability to drill down deeper into each section. If you’re in the “Blog” section, for example, you can add individual entries as favorites, view information about the author, and email items to contacts.”

BuzzGain was co-founded by Brian Solis, know for his blog PR 2.0 and co-author of the book, Now is Gone.
BuzzGain has an interesting pricing model were the cost is $99 per month for companies under $100m in revenue; companies making $100m – $1 billion is $500 per month; those with over $1b is sales is $1,000 per month. I am curious how they keep track of that (D&B?) but it makes the system accessible to everyone.
This could level the playing field for many companies and put PR in a whole new light. This should give many companies who use this effectively a way to see their influence and communicate with those channels directly.
You can sign up for a 15-day trial and give it a test drive. So what are you waiting for?
