Ad Village is a new ad platform for bloggers that gives back 80-100% of ad revenue back to bloggers. They use crowdsourcing to refine the methods that people advertise on blogs and use sophistcated analytics to target better than ever. They just launched at Blog World and they have tons of sponsors with a team of 10 people.

I recently had the opportunity to meet the co-founders, Marissa Louie and Duc Haba who explain their strategy and why it is important to serve the bloggers with a new ad platform that hasn’t been seen previously. Check out our interview below:

I recently had a chance to interview Tilly McLain, the community manager with MyBlogLog. She is the first friend you have on MyBlogLog, so she is the equivalent of Tom on MySpace. MyBlogLog is a social network for bloggers that tracks who is coming to your blog and uses its popular widget to see who visits your blog. One of the coolest parts is the backend tracking so you can see who is really visiting your blog and what they are reading. The impact for you as a blogger is to understand what content is being read to tune future content to your readers and hopefully grow your blog even more.

I also got a hot tip that it is about to launch a new design in the upcoming months which will have lots of features. Let’s let Tilly explain more in the video interview below:

MindTouch is an open source Wiki solution, but make no mistake, they are a serious company with a for-profit business model that has produced one of the top Wiki products out on the market today. I personally have done many Wiki implementations and I can tell you that MindTouch is easy to install, configure and administrate for those not willing or able to master HTML markup language.

Sarah Carr with MindTouch demonstrates the word-like editor and some of the many plugins that can be easily installed into the wiki. They have a free version and pay-for enterprise edition for any company that wants to try it out. I will let her demo do the rest of the talking. Check out the video below:

Nansen and Bret are fans of Network Solutions and are great examples of small business customers that we treasure so much. MR Data Corporation is a firm specializing in the data processing of market research and public opinion survey information. They provide a full range of processing services, including coding, data entry, word processing, cross tabulations and project consultation. They also perform processing on survey data collected either on paper forms or electronically by CATI systems/online surveying.

They are also involved in blogging for personal stuff and political stuff.

Nansen recommends three things that people should do when they decide to get online:

1.) Get your domain

2.) Just start writing every day

3.) Don’t stress about getting it perfect, just start having a conversation

Check out the whole interview below:

TechSmith is a software company that offers an array of products like Camtasia which is perfect for doing screencasts. They also offer Snag-It which is a way to do a screen grab and send it someone in order to communicate what you are talking about. This is incredibly valuable for IT support and for bloggers who embed screen shots into their blog posts.

New to the scene is their project called Jing. It is a video recording tool called Jing which does screen recording and capturing, importing of video and pictures but the coolest part is that it allows you to upload and share it with friends.

Shashi had a chance to interview Katie Lewis of TechSmith who filled us in on what TechSmith is up to and why they are here at BlogWorld. Check it out.
