I was just reading the print edition of the Washington Post Business and saw this story on Tuckers AC who is a Network Solutions domain customer. Cheers to Mike and Ken Tucker! ( http://tuckersac.com/ and http://www.furnacefilterstoyourdoor.com )

You should read the Washington Post article to get the best out of it. Here are some key points that are very valuable:

Build a business on customer service and reliability.

“Ken Tucker networked like mad, passing out his card, attending various business and association meetings and industry shows.”

“He and other small business owners known as the ‘Success Network’ gather every Thursday morning at the Clopper Road Bowl America in Montgomery County to exchange ideas, leads and gossip.”

Since I live close by I should try and make it to one of their Thursday meetings. Tom Heath says that companies selling services/products that people purchase routinely are ”what Warren Buffett refers to as ‘tollbridge’ businesses — something you pay for with some regularity. ”

This was a great way to start the Monday morning and now you know my secret. I read the printed version of the paper.
