<div>Even though its been a few weeks since his talk , here are my thoughts from his talk.</div>
<div>- We are wasting some effective Human Capital by actions like choosing the big kids in each class for sports when they are 8 or 9.</div>
<div>This is a study by Barnsley RH, Thompson AH, Barnsley PE (1985). Hockey success and birth-date: The relative age effect. <em>Journal of the Canadian Association for Health, Physical Education, and Recreation</em>, Nov.-Dec., 23-28</div>
<div>- There is a story on why some people believe Chinese Americans excel not because of IQ but because culturally they work hard and do not give up. ( See <a href="http://www.theamericanscholar.org/au07/flynn-restak.html">http://www.theamericanscholar.org/au07/flynn-restak.html and </a>and <a href="http://www.indiana.edu/~intell/flynneffect.shtml">http://www.indiana.edu/~intell/flynneffect.shtml ).</a></div>
<div>I am eagerly waiting to read Malcolm Gladwell&#8217;s new book Outliers.</div>
